History of the School

Satit Bangna School was established in 1994 by Mr. Rattana Srikraivin, the former Vice President of Supreme Court and the Minister of Justice, was aware of the problem regarding the development of education for the children in Thailand, especially the condition of its crowded streets filled with air, dust and noise pollution.  The children had to spend time commuting from home to school, which could take up to several hours a day, which makes it very time consuming, leaving the students with little or no opportunity to play or partake in activities that are useful in the development of both their physical and mental health.  As a result, this issue can significantly impact the development of the children’s overall intelligence. The result of this problem will be reflected in the country in the future. Mr. Rattana planned to build a school in the suburbs in order to have a good atmosphere and to be in nature, which are both conducive in teaching and performing sport activities.  This also helps to reduce anxiety of the students’ parents who cannot find a good quality school outside of the city. 

In 1994 Ms. Churairat Bonitern who is Mr.Rattana’s daughter and was the Managing Director of Raimond Land PCL Plc. At that time owned approximately 20 hectares in the area of Raymund Park Road at Moo 11, District of Bangplae, Bangplee in the province of Samutprakan.  The land was given to Satit Bangna foundation and this would give the school the space it needed. The school building has a place for sports and recreational activities including a football field, basketball court, tennis court and a swimming pool meeting the standard size.

In the same year the founder of the school chose to invite Dr. Aree Sunhachawee, the former Primary School Teacher demonstration of SWU University and former Dean of the Faculty of Education of Srinakharinwirot University Prasanmit.  She was appointed as the school’s first head mistress and opened courses from kindergarten 1 to grade 6 with 137 students.

In the academic year 1995, the founders constructed 4 school buildings in the kindergarten department with a homely atmosphere causing students to not feel the need to leave home to school. Early childhood sections started from kindergarten 1 to kindergarten 3 and the school course section extended to Secondary 1.

In the academic year 1996 the secondary education expanded the level to Secondary 2 and Secondary 3 in the academic year 1997.

The academic year 1998 has constructed the second school building on the south side of the first building next to the pool Is a 4-story school building, below is an open space which completed as a school building in the academic year 1999, with the students’ highest level was until Secondary 5.

 In the academic year 2000, there were 10 students in the first year of Secondary 6, and from the 2000 academic year, Satit Bangna School has been teaching and learning according to the basic education curriculum from kindergarten until grade 6 in full.  There are varieties of quality development of learners such as art: Thai music, international music, culinary arts and develop the capacity in other various fields.

In the academic year 2003, the 3rd school building was constructed. Beside the Raimon Park clubhouse in a 4-story school building. The ground floor is an open room for meetings and teaching activities of primary 1 to primary 3 students and has built another multi-purpose building at the kindergarten department as a 2-story open-air building for activities of kindergarten students and the year that the school developed teachers' potential by participating in the Thai schools of excellent project. 

In the academic year 2004, a building for activities in the Botanical Garden and Art Department was built.  It is the 4th building adjacent to Building 1, next to the football field on the north side is a tall building 4 and was completed in the academic year 2005.

In the academic year 2004, Satit Bangna School has been assessed for educational quality from the Office for National Education Standards and Quality (ONESQA) and the presumption of the educational quality of the school was good.

 In the academic year 2005, Dr. Bampen Maitri Sophon had been a consultant in the field of external assessments to schools and then in the academic year 2004 was appointed as the director of Satit Bangna School with a vision to create and promote the school to be a leading school.  It’s aimed to develop youths to be the perfect human; both physically and mentally, with Thai consciousness and modern knowledge, to be creative in solving problems, to be able to face obstacles in life so that they can change in the desired way, achieving the highest level of their potential and the special abilities of each person with good environmental factors, which are friends, parents and teachers, under the philosophy of "Love academic, love sports and emphasize family values".

In the academic year 2006, the school opened an English Program according in the learning and teaching of the Ministry of Education (Kindergarten 2-3, Grade 1, Grade 4, and Secondary 1 and opened it to all classes up until the lower secondary level in the academic year of 2008.

In the academic year of 2007, Satit Bangna School invited Dr. Phayungsak Chantara Surin to be the signatory instead of the license holder in the educational affairs of the school and Associate Professor Dr. Pornchulee Achawa-amrung, who was a lecturer from the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University to become a director.

 In the academic year 2008, Satit Bangna School invited Professor Dr. Aree Sunhachawee again to be director of the school and Mrs. Rattanawadi Senadisai to be the school manager with a vision to happily build children's abilities to their full potential within the world of learning who have the awareness of being good Thai citizens and world citizens. This year the school has expanded the classes to start from Nursery until Secondary 6.

In the academic year of 2009, the school received the Royal Award for pre-primary level and the Royal Student Award for Primary Medium size. The school was ready-to-use the curriculum for basic education in 2008.

In the academic year 2010, the school sent indicators joining the school administration under the Private School Act of 2008 and began to use the English Progressive Program (EPP) to make connection between the Thai program and the English Program.

 In the academic year 2011, the school was developed towards an English Language Focus where teaching and learning was based on the basic education core curriculum of 2551 by using English as a medium of instruction for students from kindergarten level 1 to grade 6. On top of this the school started using a Leadership Curriculum called “The Leader in Me” for grade 3 - 5 students. 

In the academic year 2012, the school received the Royal Award Average Level, filled with education, the Royal Award for students as an average-sized primary school and the lower high school royal student award. It also applied the Leadership Curriculum “The Leader in Me” to students from kindergarten to Secondary 6.

In the academic year 2013, the school participated in a research study project with
Khon Kaen University applying the Lesson Study and Open Approach in Mathematics teaching and learning in the middle elementary school level and bring a balance of language teaching innovation or language balance adapted for development so that students can read, write and learn more vocabulary.

 In the academic year 2015, the school changed the director as Dr. Natrudee Jitrangsan.  The school received the Royal Student Award in primary school and started using “Leader in Me” course in Secondary 1 to 6.

In the academic year 2016, the school received the Royal Student Award in lower high school level. The school had been selected as the lighthouse School, the first local school in Southeast Asia, which is successful in teaching and learning integrated 7 Habits used in a systematic way.

In the academic year 2017, the school received the Royal Student Award in upper high school level and the consolation prize of Royal Student Award in primary school.

In the academic year 2018, the school started the early childhood education curriculum 2017 in kindergarten 1-3 and school curriculum. (Revised 2017) in accordance with the Basic Education Curriculum 2008, B.E. 2551, for primary Pratom 1 and 4, and for secondary Mattayom 1 and 4, the school was amended by changing the school's badge and students’ uniforms in school instruments. 

In the academic year 2019, Mr. Pakinai Soontornwipart has become the director of Satit Bangna School since May 1, 2019. It was the 25th year of the school. There was a meeting on the academic management structure by adjusting the duties and learning management to match the expertise of the teachers. The school's vision, goals, and missions were adjusted in line with the changes in the 21st century. The school's identity is redefined to be consistent with the school's goal of creating the future leaders. Learning management is based on a learning community model. Professional learning Community: PLC is managed by integrating and promoting 7 Habits to enhance the characteristics of learners to meet the needs of the 4.0 society. There were seminars with the government and private agencies to arrange additional courses in order to allow students to enhance their potential according to their aptitudes and interests.       

In the academic year 2020, the school has opened English Program for Primary grade 1 by organizing internationally recognized courses in collaboration with both domestic and international institutions, focusing on learning in English based on students' experiences and developmental activities using native-language teachers as a management team and teaching team, separated from the regular program. In this year the online teaching system has been provided due to the corona virus (Covid-19) epidemic. The online teaching techniques have been trained for the teachers and integrated in teaching and learning management. There is an increase in personnel training to create more experience all in science, social sciences, humanities, psychology, liberal arts, and sports in order that the teachers gain more knowledge, including the presentation of their work on the national stage at EDUCA festival.
